THE CoW on JACKASS HILL





The house where Mark Twain resided.  

Here he conceived The Leaping Frog of Calaveras County, which established his career as a writer.

"It was a hallowed spot in the literary geography of the Far West:  'the headquarters of all Bohemians visiting the mountains,' in the words of Twain's friend Dan de Quille."
