AUSTIN AT LUNCHTIME

This is the line at Franklin Barbecue just before opening at 11 a.m., kind of like a Walmart sale the day after Thanksgiving.

We don't do lines, so off we scoot to Hoover's Cooking for Chicken-Fried Steak, an Austin specialty, which looks and tastes like a patty of ground beaks and gonads.
