Denial is the first of Six Stages of Midlife Crisis.

Over the next six days we intend to experience all six stages (one each day)—and get it over with, fast.

I must be in denial because I certainly do not see myself as almost-senior let alone middle-aged (despite movie cashiers insisting I should pay their senior rate).

I take the view that if you haven’t grown up by the time you reach 50 you don’t have to.

Thomas Van Stein has been told (by no less an authority than Gary Breitweiser) that he has the "eternal child" in him.

And Van Stein actually believes it.

So denial it is.  (For today only.)
