SEATTLE ART MUSEUM

Alexei Jawlensky:  Moonlight

John Covert: Temptation of Saint Anthony

Mark Rothko:  #10

Estaban Murillo: Saint Augustine in Ecstacy

Peter Paul Rubens:  The Last Supper

The permanent collection is scant but precious.

However, their current Special Exhibition comprises of some of the worst art I've ever seen...

ON A SUNNY DAY...

St. James's Park

...no finer place to be than London.

Hyde Park

A luxurious ten-hour sleep and a long walk through Mayfair and London's prettiest parks will lead to a feeling of overwhelming joyousness.

THE LANES OF MARYLEBONE

This French country gem cannot be beat for quiche and a glass of Beaune Grand Cru

SIR LARRY

My friend since 44 years ago.

I first met Larry in 1974 when he invaded my coffee house, Tricky Dick's, costumed as a wicked hunch-backed vicar, asking pretty ladies if he could join them and in the same breath how they liked their bacon cooked for breakfast while enhancing live music (often courtesy of Tim Hardin) by madly beating his hump with a drumstick.

(Weren't those the days...)

Larry was (and still is) more entertaining than all the finest TV, movies and live musicals combined.

NOT SELFRIDGES

Selfridges has sadly sacrificed itself to Russian consumers.

As one wise Brit told me, if you want to witness the English shopping experience in London, travel up and down the escalators at John Lewis.
