Where Mecca and Jerusalem and Bodh Gaya meet for a multi-spiritual smorgasbord of whatever-works.
Some hail Crestone the New Age capital of the USA. But with its low thread count, New Agers rarely last, preferring the resorts of Sedona.
This is more about Old Age, as in ancient wisdom.
A refuge for world truths?
Indeed, and coexisting side-by-side in harmony.
Crestone sits nestled within the Sangre de Cristo peaks, 8,000 feet above sea level. Its topography is likened to Tibet.
Here, among monasteries, ashrams, Buddhist temples, Taoist retreats, and even a Japanese Zen-do, one may cherrypick ideas and rituals to create a faith of one's own.
Or, as one Crestonian put it: "A great, great place if you want to wake up."
We shall see...
