Public Record

Having been caught filing a lawsuit under a fictitious name, which he uses improperly to conduct business in California, "TC Reiner" has attempted (under pressure) to amend his complaint... with a (late-in-the-day) admission:

He is... truly... Reiner Edmund Schmegner.

(Flushed out into the open.)

Consequently, it can be argued that all copyrights under the fictitious name "TC Reiner" may be invalid, due to... improper registrations.

Hence, my advice to anyone victimized by "TC Reiner" in a threatened or filed lawsuit:

Scrutinize, for validity, whatever copyright he (Schmegner, as "TC Reiner") may claim.

Once upon a time, a very astute and imaginative poet named Lawrence Ferlinghetti created a far-out bookstore in North Beach that became home to the Beats.

Kerouac and Ginsburg  may have, in their time, transcended their faithful patron and promoter. But Ferlinghetti's literary reputation may eventually eclipse those he hosted.

Ferlinghetti lives (he's 100 years-old, bless him) and so does his iconic creation.

While big book chains (think Borders, corporate mentality) turn to dust, City Lights keeps on keeping on.

And the lights of this city continue to brighten many a mind.

Although I've  been to San Fran a handful of times over the past ten years, this amazing cathedral, called Grace, somehow eluded me.

Or perhaps I wasn't ready for it.

Till now.

Reiner Edmund Schmegner
(C) Claire Eringer 2016

TC Reiner.

This is what you need to know:

“TC Reiner” is a fictitious name.

His real name:

Reiner Edmund Schmegner.

Public Record

Fraud and deception does not end with a name.

Schmegner purports to do business under the name “TC Reiner.”

Business Card

Schmegner is based in Santa Barbara, California.

Yet no "TC Reiner" corporate entity is listed with California’s Secretary of State in Sacramento.

And no DBA under the name "TC Reiner" is registered with the Clerk-Recorder Office in Santa Barbara County.

Public Record

Doing business under a fictitious name is improper, unless registered, under California law.

Hence:  If you happen to meet "TC Reiner," my advice is… RUN!

And if "TC Reiner" offers to take your photograph, even as a gift, I recommend… RUN FASTER!!

Because Schmegner, operating under an unregistered fictitious name, seems to use photography as a way to set people up for a shakedown.

Here, in my opinion, is how Schmegner’s scam works:

Posing as the “fashion photographer” he may have been and still tries to be, Schmegner offers to take your photograph as a “gift.”

Then, without your permission or knowledge, Schmegner registers your image as his copyright or argues that it is automatically copyrighted by law.

Schmegner waits and watches.

Perhaps Schmegner trolls the Internet looking for “unauthorized usage.”

You didn’t sign a contract for receiving a gift, right?

But now that you, or someone else, posts the photograph on social media, it is claimed to be a violation of archaic copyright law.

Schmegner allegedly knows all about copyright law.

If you don’t pay thousands of dollars to make it go away, get ready for a lawsuit against you.

Schmegner has a track-record of filing such lawsuits.

Google TC Reiner lawsuits and see for yourself.

But feel welcome to start with this Counter-claim to learn more about how Schmegner operates...
